In 2017, Cooper Tire along with consortium partners Clemson University, Cornell University, PanAridus and the Agricultural Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) completed a five-year, $6.9 million USDA grant to study guayule for tire applications. This was the first time a team was assembled to study the entire guayule value chain.
